Hong Kong lawmakers pass: U.S. Hits Another Record for New Coronavirus Cases

As the United States reached its third consecutive day with a record number of new infections, officials on Friday were urgently rethinking their strategies to head off new infections. The U.S., which leads the world in total cases and deaths, reported more than 45,000 new infections on Friday, according to a Times database.
